This is a weekend vacation retreat. The site is a peninsula that extends into Lake Malibu. Because the house is to be located in a floodplain, the structure is required to be elevated twelve feet above ground level. Thus, the modernist cabin sits upon a stone plinth that is the garage. The large deck extends the interior living areas to lake and mountain views.
