Scrafano Architects

Adriana was born in Florida but spent the last two decades living in Italy. Driven by the desire to broaden her experience, she recently returned to the US. Art has always accompanied her in her journey, adding dimension to her two native languages. Sketching, painting, and sculpting became her own world where words weren’t spoken and thoughts and ideas moved fluidly into matter letting her creations carry and express meaning.

She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture, with an emphasis in “Architecture for the City”, at the Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia in Venice. Her studies strengthened her belief that architecture and individuals do not stand alone and can only be significant if they exist within an environment that recognizes and reinforces their potential for continuous change and growth.

Before joining Scrafano Architects, she collaborated for four years with the architecture studio Brombini-Saccardo in Vicenza, Italy where she was responsible, as an external architect for the American VF Corporation, for the complete building process of showrooms and offices for several well known retailers such as Vans, Reef, Eastpak, The North Face, and Timberland in locations all over Europe. She was also co-responsible for the conceptual designs of two large multiuse complexes in China and Qatar and responsible for the presentation of the latter project in Doha.

Besides art and architecture, Adriana loves fashion, California sunshine, traveling the world, and discovering new cultures with her husband and daughter.
